Creating beautifully plated simple food using fresh, clean, plant-based ingredients excites me. I grew up with a love of food and was especially inspired by my great grandmother and Nanna, both of whom were talented cooks in the kitchen, and incredible gardeners in their back yards. I seem to have inherited a gene that inspires me to turn fresh plants into delicious creations! Shoe shopping doesn't excite me nearly as much as going to farmers markets and deciding what to make with freshly picked seasonal colourful fruits and veggies.
My husband calls the kitchen my 'lab' where I look like a mad scientist inventing healthy plant based twists to common favourites. When neighbourhood kids come knocking on our door for play dates with our children, they are likely to be greeted with tastings of kale chips on dehydrator trays, funny looking fermented foods, cookies of the healthier kind, and many other raw food snacks that I have lying around. My children and their friends unknowingly serve as my toughest critics!
